Design Exercise: Conceptualize and develop three Instagram posts and other relevant creative extensions that are strategically appropriate for Pantone celebrating 1 million followers.
Whether it’s fashion, food, or flowers, Pantone has been the leading inspiration for color communication and storytelling throughout the world. As they hit one million followers on Instagram, I developed a campaign that would help them (and their followers) celebrate. Before conceptualizing, I started researching Pantone’s current social strategy. As a long-time follower, I’ve noticed how they consistently post in sets, each containing three posts that fit a certain theme. Each is unique in its own way but when grouped they look and feel complete. To celebrate Pantone reaching one million followers on Instagram, I wanted to continue this approach with the addition of a “tease and reveal” as well as a special edition color collection.
When I think about celebratory events, two things come to mind; drinks and confetti (lots of confetti!). I want the visuals to be fun and make you feel like you’re in a big mountain of sparkly confetti, with a drink in one hand and a polaroid in the other to make the milestone moment last forever. I’ve created a campaign that includes three Instagram posts, an email to subscribers, and a special edition color palette called Confetti Collection on Pantone’s website.
This celebration is truly all about their followers. It’s important to show gratitude for everyone who has been following along and being a part of Pantone’s inspiration. This celebration is dedicated to them, as a sign of appreciation and how all of us, together, make a better story.
